Roundway Down, the site of the Civil war battle of 1643, boasts magnificent views over the Wiltshire Countryside and is home to the Devizes Millennium White horse, a nature reserve and tree plantation. Whether you have an hour or a whole day to spare, it really is possible to loose yourself within this wonderful walking terrain. Discover Roundway Covert Nature Reserve - A 68 acre broadleaf woodland, mostly of ash, beautifully maintained by The Wiltshire Wildlife Trust. The link below shows a walk around the Battlefield site following 6 Waymark points. The entire walk around the Battlefield site will take between 2 and 3 hours. However, various shorter routes are outlined, enabling the walk to be adapted - You can choose your route and the length of your walk to take in as much or as little of Roundway Down as you like. The walk starts and ends from the car park. |
